A study was conducted to determine the constraints for the adoption of subsurface drainage technology for the reclamation of saline and waterlogged soils encountered by the farming community in the Tungabhadra Project area, India. Results showed that the constraints were high installation cost (52%), lack of technical information (31%), inadequate institutional support (19%) and lack of distribution systems (31%)..
