Yield Performance and Economic Viability of Sunflower Hybrid (KBSH 41)

The present study was carried out by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kolar during the years 2006-07 and 2007-08 to know the yield performance and economic viability of sunflower hybrid (KBSH-41). Relevant data were collected from frontline demonstration and non-frontline demonstration sunflower farmers using a pre-tested interview schedule. Majority (50%) of the sunflower frontline demonstration farmers were having small family (54%) and belonged to high level of extension participation (51.4%). There was 18.14 and 22.14 per cent increase in yield over the farmers practices in sunflower hybrid, respectively. The frontline demonstration farmers realized higher revenue and benefit cost ratio than the non-frontline demonstration farmers.
