摘要

SPAK (SPS1-related proline/alanine-rich kinase) [1-3] and OSR1 (oxidative stress-responsive kinase 1) [4, 5] are regulated by the WNK (with-no-K(Lys)) kinases [1, 6-9], which contribute to the regulation of ion transport and blood pressure [10-14]. SPAK and OSR1 are powerful stimulators of the Na~+, Cl~- (NCC) and Na~+, K~+, 2C1~- (NKCC) co-transporters [4-7, 10, 15-23]. Genetic defects in WNK kinases underly Gordon's syndrome, a monogenic disease characterized by hypertension and hyperkalaemia [8, 9, 24, 25]. Enhanced SPAK/OSR1 activity is suggested to increase neuroexcitability [26].
