Acquired renal cysts, frequently observed in adults, are usually asymptomatic and rarely require treatment. Although the evidence remains unconvincing, some authors describe an association between the presence of simple renal cysts and arterial hypertension in cross-sectional observational studies. Herein, we present a case of hypokalaemic hypertension in a middle-aged man, which was significantly stabilized in blood pressure after drainage of a solitary renal cyst.
