摘要

An introduction of the subject and development of vitreous matrices was given in part I of the paper. In this paper the property of the glasses as regards durability and long time leaching of fission products, techniques of measurement, heat treatment and physical properties of a few selected glasses have been described.. Other related problems like evaporation of ruthenium and Cs have been addressed. Reasons why a vitreous matrix rather than incorporation in crystals as solid solution is preferred have been discussed. Industrial development work has bee briefly mentioned.
