Provenance studies of Moldanubian paragneisses based on geochemical data (Bohemian Massif, Czech Republic)

摘要

Major and trace element whole-rock analyses have been carried out for 35 samples of paragneisses from the Moldanubian zone of the Bohemian Massif. The results are compared with geochemical data of Late Precambrian elastic meta-sediments from the zone of Erbendorf-Vohenstrauss (ZEV), the Tepla-Barrandian zone and the Saxothuringian zone. Paragneisses from the Moldanubian zone often represent claystone compositions (apart from greywacke and mudstone compositions), while such claystone compositions appear to be much rarer in the ZEV, the Tepla-Barrandian zone and the Saxothuringian zone. In these units, greywacke and mudstone compositions are prevailing among the Late Precambrian elastic sediments. The sedimentary protoliths of the Moldanubian paragneisses were probably deposited in an environment between continental island arc (Monotonous group) and active continental margin (Varied group).
