Everyone is aware that their bank offers home equity loans. But the way banks get their customers to actually take out home equity loans is by marketing to them with clear, targeted messages about how such a loan could specifically benefit them. Similarly, there is widespread awareness among consumers of utility-led energy consumption management programs. More than half the respondents surveyed for our New Energy Consumption Management Market (ECM) report said they had heard of at least one consumption management product offered by their utility (Exhibits 1 and 2).
