The growth of gold nanoparticles 10 nm in size immobilized on the mica surface under the effect of tetrachloroauric acid and different hydrogen peroxide concentrations in the range from 2 × 10~(–6) M to 2 ×10~(–2) M has been studied. An investigation into the kinetics of this process by atomic force microscopy has shown that the position of the maximum in histograms of the particle height distribution depends on the hydrogen peroxide concentration and the process duration. The number of particles does not substantially change during this process. The growth of the particles stops 30 min after the reaction starts.
