PRODUCTION OF ALUMINUM DIE CASTINGS AND ALUMINUM CASTINGS IN FISCAL 2006 (April 2006 - March 2007)

According to data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, production of aluminum die castings increased 4.2 percent to 1,081,754 tons in the fiscal year 2006 (April 2006-March 2007) from the year-ago period. Production results by market show that all sectors, excluding that of electric equipment which marked a 3.0 percent decline, saw their volumes rise year-on-year. Auto sector accounted for 83.3 percent of the total and posted a firm growth of 4.7 percent.
