Telefonica set to unify brands in Argentina

Spanish telecoms giant Telefonica is set to unify its operations in Argentina under the Movistar brand from 3 April, it has been revealed. The telco currently operates as Telefonica de Argentina (TdA) in the wireline sector and Speedy in the broadband market, and only uses Movistar for its mobile activities. It has beem suggested that the rebranding exercise will help the telco to reposition itself as a multi-play operator ahead of its planned pay-TV launch.
