Pot experiment was conducted to determine the potential of the phytotoxicity of sunflower rhizosphere soil at various stages of its growing period viz., 60.75, 90, 105 and 120 days after sowing on crops and weed. The sunflower rhizosphere soil at various stages (60, 75, 90, 105 and 120 days after sowing) was used to determine the phytotoxicity of sunflower on succeeding crops and weed as compared to control. The rhizosphere soil of various stages drastically decrease the growth and yield attributes of all test plants as compared to control (non sunflower rhizosphere soil). The results indicate that the stage 60 DAS of sunflower rhizosphere soil was most inhibitory to all test plants as compared to higher stages. The phytotoxicity was greater at young stage of sunflower than old stages. Thus the phytotoxicity was observed decreasing with increase of growth stages of sunflower growing in the field. Therefore, the phytotoxicity was inversely related with growing of sunflower.
