Out of its depth? Anniversary-spec 350Z takes the fight to comp pack M3. Feel like giving the M3 a hug? After losing a couple of recent compares against more-traditional foe, the two office Taylors (J and M) claim the E46 M3 - MOTOR'S 2002 PCOTY champ - is past its use by date. Hmm. Surely we're adding insult to injury by asking the M3 competition package to suit-up for a stoush with the 35th Anniversary 350Z? Goliath, meet David. These are the ultimate versions of their breed and both are only on-sale for moments. Sure the M3 has big brother CSL to argue the point, but then, to be fair, it's more race than road. This M3, known as the competition package, bridges the gap (with CSL-spec wheels, brakes and suspension, plus the heightened electronics of M-track) for those who missed out on one of the 23 M3 CSLs sold in Australia but don't want to settle for the common garden variety M3. That privilege adds another USD 10k to the M3's USD142,000 sticker price.
