SYZYGITES MEGALOCARPUS: INCIDENCE ON BROWNS, WHITES AND A WINTER ANOMALY

There is little doubt that Syzygites megalocarpus has gained a permanent seat in the cultivated mushroom disease pantheon; it readily colonizes both white and brown strains and has been a significant problem on many farms. Giorgi Mushroom Company (GMC) in Berks County, PA, has been dealing with S. megalocarpus for five years on browns and two years on whites.
