BUILDING PARTNER COMMUNITIES AT ORACLE: Key findings from the system integrator communities project

In today's business environment, organizations must adapt and evolve faster than ever before and the best way to do this is to build strong relationships with colleagues, departments and commercial partners. Here, Ibrahim Gogus explains the need for collaboration at Oracle and explains the development of the System Integrator Communities project. Agility is becoming the determining factor for survival and leadership in today's business environment. Organizations are not only expected to cope with change but shape and benefit from it. Effective partnerships are essential to developing this agility, especially in industries with highly competitive, fast-moving markets and sophisticated products. The Information Technology (IT) industry, where customers demand seamless and simple "solutions" comprised of an array of products and services -usually provided by different vendors - is a prime example. It can be argued this is like putting together a huge jigsaw puzzle with thousands of (constantly changing) pieces. It's an impossible task. Without the full picture - a deep understanding of a wide array of technology components, business trends, markets and customers - the puzzle can never be completed let alone kept intact over time. Oracle saw a community driven, collaborative partnership approach, which provides today's full picture while shaping tomorrow's, as one of the ways to address this challenge.
