A severe dieback of box elder (Acer negundo) caused by Fusarium solani (Mart.) Sacc. in Turkey

A severe dieback has recently been observed on box elder (Acer negundo) grown on roadsides and in gardens in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. Fusarium solani was isolated from diseased box elder branches and was identified as the causal agent of dieback on this host. Pathogenicity tests were carried out on young box elder shoots. Symptoms of the pathogen are illustrated.
