Technical Properties of Cardanol Grafted Natural Rubber and Oil Plasticized Natural Rubber

The role of cardanol and the phosphory-lated derivatives of cardanol as Multi Functional Additives (MFA) in rubber compounding has been well established by Nando et al.[l-7] in recent years.The MFA activity of cardanol includes the processing and property advantages such as plasticization,cure promotion,antioxidant characteristics,and so on.Rajpakse et al.[8] have reported the use of cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL),whose major constituent is cardanol,as an antioxidant in black loaded NR vulcanizates.
