Elastomers Reinforcement by Precipitated Silicas

Precipitated silicas are traditionally used as reinforcing fillers in rubber applications.For the soles of athletic footwear,these white reinforcing fillers give an improved resistance to wear and tear with the Option of using all possible colours.In technical rubber parts,the precipitated silica are of-ten used to increase tear resistance or to decrease self-heating.In the tire industry,they have been used to improve the tear resistance of truck and heavy equipment tires,and also to enhance adhesion be-tween the metallic reinforcement and the rubber of radial tires.
