For technical, ecological and legal reasons there is been interest in achieving high per-meation resistance in elastomer Systems of the kind used, for example, to transport flu-ids in automotive and aviation applications. [1-3] Observations of the physico-chemical interrelations in the permeation of liquid media through a polymer matrix pinpoint as determinant influences the degree of in-compatibility between permeate and matrix, the free volume in the polymer matrix, chain mobility [4,5] and the diffusion path in the matrix itself, which is related to both the volume fraction and the aspect ratio of solid fillers [6].
