摘要

Continuous mixing of E-SBR/silica/silane based rubber/filler-composites (RFC) was experimentally investigated in a co-rotating twin screw extruder. Three different screw configurations were investigated with Variation in type of kneading blocks in the mixing zones: forward, neutral and reverse kneading blocks. The mixing efficiencies, were compared with respect to the three different screw configurations. Compound properties such as filler-filler-interaction, Mooney viscosity and mechanical vulcanizate properties was studied. The dispersion of silica particles werefound to be higher by using the screw configuration with reverse kneading blocks in comparison to forward and neutral kneading blocks. The Compound and vulcanizate properties obtained by using reverse kneading blocks corre-spond to the quality of the reference Compound mixed in the internal mixer.
