Elastomer foams are used for shoe soles,insulators,and as sealing material in the building industry.The mechanical prop-erties of these materials are determined by the degree of cross-linking,the foam density,and their distributions within the sample.Although it is not straight forward,the cross-link density can be measured by conventional methods like rheology and deformation by stress-strain experiments.But these methods are destructive and do not allow to measure inhomogeneities across the sample.
