Use of fractal theory in polymer mineral composite materials

The fractal model of the granite particle used in polymer mineral composite (PMC) is established. The fractal character of the granite particle is analyzed. Theoretical equations of the particle are established. The theoretical equations of the particle fractal distribution and the ratio between the surface area and the mass are deduced. The calculated results fall in the recommended range of the Germany Standards DIN51290. Fractal-dimension D represents the evenness degree of particle system; the smaller the diameter, the more equality of the particle size. D = 0 means all particle in system have the same size. The theoretical equations laid a foundation for the design of the PMC composition.
