Erie Bronze and Aluminum Co., Erie, Pa., had been keeping track of its production scheduling and costs with the same internally-designed system for more than 20 years. The system was adequate, but when the company made a move to modernize its facility, it was included in the plan. "We realized our system was out of date," said Chip Shamburg, the company's general manager. "We wanted better costing information and more ease of use."
