摘要

A method to calibrate hot-wire X-array probes in the low-speed (under 3 m s~(-1)) range, has been proposed and analysed. It is based on a second-order polynomial fit deseribing the yaw dependence of the probe sensor response. The method has been extended to the case of variable fluid temperature using the same, simple, data reduction algorithm. The temperature can be varied simultaneously with velocity in a calibration procedure. Two small X-array probes, with an additional cold sensor to measure the temperature, were constructed in order to test the proposed method. The testing was performed in constant and variable temperature fluid flow. High accuracy of the proposed method has been proven in the most demanding condition of low-speed flows.
