The technique of determinant inequalities is used to estimate simultaneously the lower bound of the uncorrelated statistical uncertainty and upper and lower bounds of the correlated systematic uncertainties in proton energy measurement in a Van de Graaff accelerator in the resonance reaction 27{left sup}Al(p, γ){sup}28Si. Knowledge of such bounds should help experimentalists reduce the correlated systematic uncertainty.
