Eugene Wallace, individually and on behalf of Melain Gonsalves, Kina Gonsalves, Terri Gonsalves, Lisa Gonsalves, Coran Gonsalves and Jaymin Wallace, along with Elizabeth Gonsalves, individually, sued the United States of America, the North Providence Housing Authority and Micki Gold Realtors Inc. d/b/a Coldwell Banker Gold in the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island, alleging liability under the Residential Lead-based Paint Hazard Reduction Act (RLPHA). The plaintiffs contended that the defendants failed to notify them of the presence of lead paint before Wallace purchased a property that was previously owned by the United States.
