Monte Carlo methods in ferromagnetic dilute transition metal alloys

In dilute transition metal alloys, where the matrix is Pd or Pt, giant moments are formed when impurities such as Fe, Co or Mn are introduced in the alloy. The interaction between these giant moments induces a phase transition from paramagnetism to ferromagnetism. We present several magnetic characteristics of these giant moment alloys, using a Monte Carlo simulation method and a magnetic environment model. The simulation method explained in this work is applicable to many alloy systems with these characteristics. The method allows us to calculate the neutron scattering from the alloy and the critical temperatures of ferromagnetism. A comparison with experimental values proves the validity of the method.
