Thirty years after Martin Evans began his famous Dart series, John Smith sheds some new light onto this prettiest of Great Western branch line locomotives. The drawing and photographs show side and rear elevations of the bunker (photos 75, 76, 77 and 78) and includes detail of the fire iron brackets and the two types of lamp brackets on the bunker rear. Rivet positions are given in tables (ref 1) and not shown on the drawing. The rivets along the bottom of the bunker rear are Vie inch diameter snap head rivets, as are the two vertical rows of rivets which attach the bunker sheeting to the two supports with a 3/8 × 1/4 × 1/16inch angle section.
