This special issue contains 10 selected papers providing information on the causes (natural versus anthropic) of degradation, and mitigation strategies of endangered seas, lakes and river systems such as the Dead Sea, Amu Darya Basin, Aral Sea, Northern Shores of Lake Aral, Southern Aral Sea Region, Black Sea, White Sea, Manyas Lake (Turkey), and Lake Maryout (Egypt).
