Vedanta Resources posts record iron ore, silver production

Vedanta Resources announced 48 per cent increase in silver production to 2.63 million ounces in the current fiscal year till September 2009. Iron ore production for the first half was a record 8.2 million tonne, and during the second quarter was 3.3 million tonne, an increase of 27 per cent, which was attributed to improved efficiencies in mining operations.
