This part of the review explores how masculinities and fatherhood may impact on each other. Locating these concepts within the literature and how they interrelate has been a real challenge where the information is sparse and not well focused (Featherstone et al 2007) Not least because 'The relationship between fatherhood and masculinity appears to be sparse. It could be considered "father blind" whilst the father literature has engaged very little with the literature on masculinity' (Featherstone et al 2007).
