Coffee future prices were firmer with robust prices temporarily hitting 19-month highs. Supportive was the poor robusta crop in Brazil, while there was bullish impact from the coming cycle in Vietnam. Strength in the Brazilian real and the Colombian peso provided support. More generally, coffee prices rose on spillover from a broad-based buying in commodity markets after the US Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged. The Fed signalled it could still tighten monetary policy by the end of this year. It also projected a less aggressive rise in interest rates next year and in 2018, while it cut its longer-run interest rate forecast to 2.9% from 3.0%. Last but not least, there also is concern over the 2017/18 coffee cycle in Brazil
