EUROPEAN UNION IMPORT AND EXPORT DATA FOR 1st HALF 2012

The first six months of 2012 seem to have brought no great respite to the EU. The sovereign debt crisis that has dogged the zone for what seems like an age is still staring us in the face. The conundrum of trying to put in place austerity programmes whilst simultaneously stimulating economic activity continues to be unresolved.Whilst the coffee business in 2011 suffered from a small downturn in activity virtually across the board there was no talk of crisis. With that in mind the EU import and export data for first half 2012 should make interesting reading. So let us take a look and see how things have developed in this very important coffee market.
