Williams sues ETE, merger saga continues

The Williams Cos. Inc. filed a lawsuit against Energy Transfer Equity LP (ETE) to block a private preferred share offering ETE announced in March, alleging the offering is a breach of their merger agreement announced last September. "Williams has reviewed ETE's private offering of convertible preferred units and concluded it is a breach of the merger agreement," the company said in a statement. "Among other things, the offering provides select ETE investors with preferential treatment on ETE distributions."
