SOUTHERNERA Diamonds Inc reports that the Angolan authorities have issued a mining licence for the Camafuca kimberlite diamond project in the country, approval for which was received recently (MJ, August! 9, p9). SouthernEra holds an 18 percent free-carried interest in the joint-venture company which was formed recently following meetings between the constituent partners earlier this year. The other partners in Camafuca Sociedade Mineira Ltda (the JV company) are: Minex (the financial partner) 38 percent; Endiama (the state mining company) 37 percent; and Comica (a private Angolan company) 7 percent.
