U.S. and South Korea negotiators finalize free trade aqreement

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama announced the successful completion of negotiations to finalize a free trade agreement between the United States and the Republic of Korea, a major and steady importer of U.S. wheat. The Korea-United States Free Trade Agreement (KORUS) initially was signed by the United States and Korea in June 2007 but languished for lack of congressional approval and resolution of certain issues of concern to the Obama administration, including restrictions on U.S. automotive and beef exports.
