It took Western Australian-based junior mining house Perilya Ltd just six months to create a positive cash flow at its newly-acquired historic Broken Hill base metals mine in western New South Wales. The company bought the lead-zinc-silver operation in May 2002 from previous owner Pasminco Ltd, which had been looking to close the project in 2005/06 before finally going belly-up (for the time being at least) in the final months of 2001.
