Coal Updates

In August 2001, the NSW Minister for Mineral Resources, Eddie Obeid, officially opened the Australian-owned Nardell Coal Corporation's mine, situated 20 km northwest of Singleton.It is estimated that the new mine has sufficient coal reserves (235 million tonnes) to operate for almost 40 years and may produce up to 1.2 million tonnes of coal per year.
