New insights into prospectivity in north-west Queensland

The Mount Isa Inlier in north-west Queensland is Australia's largest lead, zinc and silver producer, and a significant producer on a world scale, as well as being a significant producer of copper. The region continues to produce world-class discoveries. Discovery of the Merlin molybdenum-rhenium deposit, as well as the Kalman copper-molybdenum-rhenium-gold deposit and the Korella phosphate-yttrium deposit, illustrate potential for more diversity in the range of commodities in the region.
