The Armstrong mine is seen as the first of many in the Widgiemooltha area for Titan Resources NL as the company moves closer to its ultimate objective of producing between 6-10,000 tonnes of nickel metal per annum from up to four operations in the region. The recent delivery of first ore from Armstrong to WMC Resources Ltd's Kambalda nickel concentrator signals the re-emergence of Titan as a nickel producer following the closure of its Radio Hill project in 2002. A parcel of about l,500t at an estimated grade of 1.8 percent nickel from the Armstrong open pit represented the first parcel of ore to WMC under Titan's ore tolling and concentrate purchase agreement ; with the resources house.
