One of the most exciting growth prospects for West Australian-based Bluestone Tin Ltd is its 53.3 million dollars RenTails project in north west Tasmania. Bluestone -- which joined the ASX during August 2004 -- has successfully positioned itself as one of the world's few listed pure tin producers and is now looking to treat tailings left behind after 40 years' of mining at the historic Renison operation. So far the company has identified 17.9 million tonnes at 0.42 percent tin, which should yield 73,133t of tin metal (or 41,500t of recoverable metal at 55 percent). The mining house plans to process 1.9 million tonnes of tin tailings grading 0.42 percent per annum. This will be on top of another 100,000 Mtpa from Renison (at 0.4 percent) as wel as 16,000 Mtpa of tin magnesium tails (graded at 10 percent). Over all, Bluestone is looking to produce 40,000 tpa of tin concentrate (at 15 percent) via fuming, resulting in 8,250t of tin fumer product at 72 percent.
