Pioneering coal technology proven at Hay Point

Victoria-based engineering and environmental consultants WBM Pty Ltd has successfully implemented its robotic wagon vibrator product at the BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) Hay Point Services port in Queensland. The company - which recently announced its acquisition by England-based engineering, science and technology consultancy group BMT Ltd - has developed (and is currently marketing) this fully automated machine for releasing coal from bottom dump coal wagons. The prototype machine was specially developed for the BMA operations and has been working at the port for the past 18 months.
