Buerger outlines clear path to gold production

With Bendigo Mining Ltd looking at June next year for phase one production to commence at the Bendigo project, the company is currently crunching the numbers for phase two following an escalation in the total capital cost. According to Bendigo managing director Doug Buerger, the company put the capital cost for the second stage (which will require an additional decline and a 1 million tonne per annum processing plant in the northern part of the field) at 260 million dollars, but cost rises across the industry has impacted on this. "We have 100 million dollars that we are now spending, but we will need to raise more money to complete phase two," he said. "We are doing some internal numbers now on the estimate...and we should have those numbers ready, for public consumption by the end of the June." The company only recently announced a significant shift in the first phase of the project.
