Taiwan to Cut Tax On Hybrid LPG Car

Taiwan is planning to reduce the commodity tax on LPG-fueled cars to encourage consumers to buy the less-polluting vehicles. Plans call for lowering the commodity tax on LPG vehicles by $775 per vehicle for five years.Currently, none of Taiwan's carmakers produce or import LPG-fueled cars. Those that run on the fuel are mostly modified locally. Promoting high-efficiency and low-pollution vehicles is a major government policy.
