Lead prices rebounded last week in line with a broad-based rally across the base metals. This followed the period from mid-to-late January when prices were weakening on the back of concerns about slower growth in China and how QE tapering was affecting some emerging markets. Last week's rally took lead prices to $2,142/tonne from a recent low of $2,075.50/tonne, but early this week it was already starting to show signs of faltering, so it may have already run its course.
