Talks between tin smelters and the local government in the Bangka Belitung province of Indonesia about how best to respond to low tin prices have been ongoing for a couple of months now, however it finally appears that a formal agreement has been reached. On Monday it was announced that a group of 22 exporters, including state owned PT Timah, will limit exports to 4,500 tonnes per month from April onwards in a bid to pull prices back up to the $23,000/tonne level.
