Masdar City, which in Arabic means the "Source City", is a commercially driven project in Abu Dhabi that aims to reach the broad boundaries of the renewable and sustainable energy technologies. Its core is a planned city, which is being built by the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, a subsidiary of Mubadala Development Company, with the majority of capital provided by the government of Abu Dhabi.
