Oct. 6 Northern Michigan Chapter of API meeting focuses on flame resistant/ retardant clothing

KALKASKA, Mich.—It's not a matter of "if" employers in Michigan's oil and natural gas industry will provide safety clothing to their workers, but a matter that they must and what are some of the better options, both as far as cost and protection. That was the message of Bob McCumby, owner of Kalkaska-based Safety First, during the monthly meeting of the Northern Michigan Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute (No. Mich.-API) at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall in Kalkaska on Oct. 6,2011, with his presentation titled, "FR Clothing—What is it and why are we required to provide it."
