摘要

This paper developed an algorithm to design an optimal point for arc welding of steels, where type butt joints. There is a directly proportional relation between the joint area, stresses and ' strains that occur after welding. Taking into account that each point form that can be used for a certain thickness of base material, produces a certain area of stitching, optimal joint selection and design can be achieved by putting a condition of minimum joint area calculated for all the point that you can use to plate thickness to be welded. Execution calculation was made using the programming language Visual Basic for Applications, which is based on an Excel file
