摘要

The behaviour of 316L steel in corrosive biological and biologically simulated media is of interest to assess the biocompatibility of the implantable material. In the first part of the study are investigated the corrosive effects of biological (human serum and plasma) and biologically(simulated fluids (phosphate buffered saline and Ringer's solution) on undeformed 316L stainless steel. In the second part, samples of stainless steel are subjected to deformation at different degrees of deformation (10%, 30%, 50%), then are subjected to electrochemical corrosion; the cyclic voltammetry method and linear polarization are used to observe the corrosion phenomena and to evaluate and to explain the results.
