摘要

Preparation method of bulk amorphous alloy by suction casting with copper mold under non-vacuum melting condition was proposed and the corresponding equipment was developed. During the melting process, the covering slag, was put on the molten alloy, which separates the molten alloy from the air totally and prevents the molten alloy from oxidation and inspiratory reaction. It provides the similar environment as that of in vacuum. And then the molten alloy was introduced into a copper mold to rapidly form a sample through a graphite tube based on negative pressure. The Zr_(55)Ni_5Al_(10)Cu_(30) bulk amorphous alloy rod with a diameter of 3 mm has been prepared with commercial raw materials using this method. The glass forming ability of the Zr_(55)Ni_5Al_(10)Cu_(30) alloy was studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). The results showed that the sample is basically of a single amorphous structure. Compared with the other preparing methods, the method in this work has the features of low equipment cost, accurate temperature control, simple process and convenient operation.
